Nindigilly Pub is Queensland's oldest hotel located in it's original condition and position on the banks of the Moonie River. The licence was issued in 1864 after operating as shearers accommodation for the Nindigully Station.

The Gully, as it's affectionately known, brewed it's own beer and spirits before XXXX and Bundaberg Rum even existed. Today the boom town of approximately 50 people and 15 houses of the early 1900s has been reduced to two houses, the pub, the old General Store and the Town Hall with a population of six!

The Moonie River could be considered to be one of the heads of the Darling River system. They are lucky to have an old timber weir out front of the pub which gives them a permanent water (and fish) supply. The bridge in front of the pub was once used by Cobb and Co Coaches to bring people and hoses to the pub to water and feed.

A bit disappointed with our Nindigully experience. Was looking forward to a great country atmosphere and chatting to locals about farming (being a retired farmer myself I'm very interested in finding out how the seasons are going) however much to our disappointment for the 3 days we camped along the beautiful river we didn't see one local! Just got home from a weekend away with the Ulysses motorcycle club at Nindigully hotel, great experience being on the edge of the out back and we had a lot of fun, however the trip was spoiled a bit by the poor attitude of some of the Hotel staff, we were not impressed at being woken up at 1 in the morning with their drunken behavior nor was the abuse appreciated when they were asked to keep the noise down a little ...
