The house is built of local stone and was originally roofed with shingles. It has ten rooms, including a large farmhouse kitchen, a music room and an office as well as a cellar underneath. There was once a detached kitchen and stone stables for up to twelve horses. Before the steam-powered equipment was installed in the nearby mill, these horses were used to turn the millstone which ground the wheat. Not open to the public, the building is under restoration by the National Trust.
