Limoncello, the traditional lemon liqueur of Italy, originated on the terraced cliffs of the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, where large, plump, sweet-scented, lemons are still being grown from the original stock.
Until recently, Limoncello used to be made exclusively in the home for private consumption, using jealously guarded recipes passed down through generations. Following its introduction to the rest of Europe, it is now unquestionably the most popular drink in Italy.
