Located in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest - The Discovery Centre attracts visitors from all over the world and is highly regarded as a first class eco-tourism experience. With qualified staff, a large indoors-interpretive display area, the latest touch screen technology, an audiovisual theatre and grand, all weather verandas', the Centre offers information on the daintree rainforest and its inhabitants - butterflies, birds cassowaries, crocodiles and much more.

The Centre welcomes you with a large, colourful reception area, and trendy gift shop selling a plethora of eco-clothing, and local arts and crafts. The coffee shop boasts the best refreshments in the north.

Experienced naturalists are available to answer questions and information is available in six languages. Whether you are with a pre-organised tour group or travelling independently there is a wealth of things to see and do. A popular alternative is to do a self-guided walk using world-class audio guides.

Visitors will enjoy the magnificent daintree treetops walk thanks to the inovative Aerial Walkway - they may see a cassowary meandering along the stunning McLean's Creek. They can explore the Bush Tucker Trail, or the Cassowary Circuit, climb the 23 metre high Canopy Tower, or relax on the reclining benches and gaze up at the colossal Strangler Fig.

If you do go - grab a coffee at the coffee shop (A+ for the coffee) sit back for half and hour and watch out the window - you will have seen it all !! DO NOT hire the $5 voice machines - really was boring ... Read More
