Doonkuna Estate

Doonkuna has 50 acres of vines, growing Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, & Shiraz. Doonkuna has a second label called 'Rising Ground' which is the aborigional meaning of 'Doonkuna'. When at full production Doonkuna will produce over 10 thousand cases of premium wine each year.

Doonkuna Estate was founded in 1971 by Wing Commander Harvey Smith. The original vineyard [now known as the house vineyard], was planted with 9 different varieties in order to evaluate which wines would perform best in this cool climate area.
