Goomburra Forest Reserve is in the foothills of the western slopes of the 'Scenic Rim' a spectacular arc of mountains south-west of Brisbane. The views from Sylvester Lookout are spectacular down across the Brisbane Valley. Goomburra is also a special area for rare and endangered frogs and your co-operation is required to protect them. Be Frog Friendly!
The 3499 hectares of Forest Reserve is part of an extensive system of diverse forest types, ranging from dry open forest to lush subtropical rainforest. Managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, it is a popular spot for campers and bushwalkers. There are several walks at the forest of varying distances and difficulty and access with assistance for the Disabled Specific disabled walk
Goomburra State Forest is a rainforest behind the Main Range National Park and Cunningham's Gap. It is considered one of the most beautiful places in Queensland. There is abundant wildlife, some very rare such as, a white koala, the phascogale and antechinus and approximately 27 species of frogs. There are also platypus in Dalrymple Creek.
