The National Motor Museum at Birdwood houses the nation's most important collection of vintage, veteran and classic motor cars and motor cycles, exceeding three hundred. Set in a beautiful twenty acre complex by the River Torrens in Adelaide's picturesque hills, fifty kilometres from Adelaide.
The Museum answers over two thousand research enquiries each year from across Australia and overseas.
The National Motor Museum hosts a number of special events each year being Bay to Birdwood Run, held in September on even years, one of the world's great historic motoring events with a spectacular list of over 1800 vintage vehicles complete with passengers in period dress. The rally winds itself through the Adelaide Hills where the vehicles spend the day on display at the Museum whilst visitors enjoy Australia's biggest motoring picnic.
