Darbys Falls Observatory

The observatory is located on Observatory Road (off the road to Mount McDonald) Darby Falls, Cowra.

Follow the Observatory signs from Cowra along the Cowra - Wyangala Dam Rd. Turn left just before Darbys Falls at Observatory sign at McDonald Rd. Follow this road for almost a km, then turn right into Observatory Rd and contiunue to end of road into the car parking area. If arriving after nightfall please assist by switching off headlights as soon as possible. The observatory can be seen up the hill on the left.

The observatory offers one of the largest telescope accessible to the public, a 500mm Newtonian. Also available are 400mm, 300mm and 200mm instruments. There will soon be installed a flat screen planetarium.
