To use chef Peter van Heusden's words, "food should jump off the plate onto your tongue and make your taste buds sing". And that's exactly the attitude he takes when preparing dishes at The Cheese Factory Restaurant. Combining Mediterranean food with many other cuisine styles, this place really makes the most of local fresh produce, including seafood, dairy products and wines. There is something for every budget and palette whilst sitting at one of the historic tables, among the many artefacts on display in the restaurant.
There's a warm wood fire in winter and air conditioning in summer; customer comfort is foremost. You'll soon feel welcome with the friendly staff and interesting history.
The community run museum has a bizarre and eclectic array of artefacts, ranging from rocket parts to commodes, old telephones to cow pats, cheese making equipment to tractors.
