Stonington Stables Museum of Art

The Stonington Stables Museum of Art is an innovative and flexible gallery that has been established by Deakin University in the refurbished Stonington Stables complex. This significant building has been fully restored to its former glory in a renovation that has enhanced the visual appeal and historic features of the complex, while incorporating two flexible gallery spaces and a contemporary art collection management area.

The Stonington Stables Museum of Art was officially opened to the public in 2001 and now features exhibitons of significant works, principally by established artists, for the pleasure and education of the University and the broader community.

The Museum of Art complex includes the courtyard space, featuring large sculptural works by renowned artists. Located alongside the magnificent Stonington Mansion built in 1892, the Museum of Art is steeped in history and charm.
