The Coorong and ocean beach are popular fishing areas, while the quiet lagoons provide ideal conditions for boating. The best entry points for boats are from Goolwa and Hindmarsh Island.

See a variety of birds. The Coorong is internationally renowned for waterfowl that gather to feed, and is a major breeding ground for pelicans, ducks, swans and ibis. During the warmer months the Coorong becomes home to thousands of migratory birds such as sandpipers, stilts and stints. The Coorong is of important Aboriginal significance and is renowned for its archaeological sites.

For the more active go canoeing and yachting. However, without local knowledge, boating south of the barrages can be hazardous due to sandbars and reefs.

All attractions on the Coorong are accessible by walking trails or marked tracks.

Other facilities in the park include picnic shelters, toilets and walking trails.
