Getting There: Port Douglas is just one-hour drive north of the Cairns International Airport along the Captain Cook Highway one of the most scenic ocean coast roads in Australia. My partner and I stayed at Martinique in April after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. I have to say that while their reviews are great, our stay far exceeded our expectations.

Fred and Antonia are the most wonderful hosts, they gave us great tips on where to dine, what tours to do and places to visit - then they arranged it all for us!
