The Gallery is the permanent home to the Lionel Lindsay Art Gallery and Library. Assembled by Toowoomba resident, the late Mr William Bolton MBE, this collection features over 400 significant Australian art works by such artists as Lionel, Norman, Percy, Daryl and Ruby Lindsay, Phillips Fox, McCubbin and more. The Library is of outstanding historical and national significance and comprises rare books and manuscripts. Examples include letters written by explorer Ludwig Leichhardt, navigator La Perouse, literary figures such as Henry Lawson and Lionel Lindsay's collection of papers.

The Fred and Lucy Gould art collection also features in the gallery, consisting of antique furniture, fine porcelain and glassware, gold and silverware, bronzes, carved ivory pieces and other items mostly from Europe, Asia and Australia.
