Labassa is found in Victoria's Caulfield North and is one of Australia's most outstanding 19th century mansions.
Offering opulent architecture and largely intact decoration, the Labassa house reflects the work of architect John Augustus Bernard Koch who created a lavish setting for grand social occasions.
Labassa is a French Renaissance style mansion with Germanic and Hellenistic influences.
The interior consists of the finest embossed wallpapers and mahogany timbers with a rare illusionist ceiling that enhances the stairhall. The exterior of Labassa features Corinthian columns, arcaded verandahs, classical decoration and inset Italian marble panels.
