Host Matteo Pignatelli has overseen the good quality food, hospitality and service here for 10 fine years. A favourite amongst reviewers and foodies alike, people only have good things to say about Matteo's.
The menu is modern European, ably accompanied by a wonderful accessible wine list, though BYO is accepted.
The degustation menu is a good way to sample as many dishes as possible and vegetarians are well catered for. Meat lovers needn't feel left out, dishes such as saltimbocca quail or Gamekeepers venison and Gippsland lamb will keep any carnivore happy.
