Stephanie Alexander is one of Melbourne's best chefs and her exploitation of seasonal ingredients and quality produce can be enjoyed to the maximum here.
From breakfast and lunch through to functions and special events old-fashioned classic ingredients are showcased in their own right such as roasted blue-eye with coriander chermoula on carrot and harissa puree with braised sweet peppers and deep-fried zucchini flower.
It couldn't be Saturday morning without a serve of her famous cheese on toast, or lunch without one of the best caesars in town, both dishes making the most of the best cheese room adjoined to the cafe.
