This Historic building was built in the 1820's on land that was an early town grant to John Howe in 1811. Howe was a man of considerable note in Windsor. From Circa 1842 - 1848 the building was leased to Edward Coffey, an Inn keeper, under the name of Daniel O'Connell Inn.

In 1876 it was sold to George Davies, a painter who published The Australian newspaper there until the 1890's building was bought by Windsor Municipal Council and now houses the Hawkesbury Museum and Archaeological Artefact Repository.

The museum contains interesting memorabilia from the Hawkesbury district, with special relic displays about the Royal Australian Air Force at Richmond, H.M.A.S. Hawkesbury Pioneer Families and Riverboat History.
