Cowra Art Gallery

The Cowra Art Gallery is a contemporary art space located in the Shire's cultural precinct, which includes the Cowra Library and the Council Chambers. The Gallery offers an exciting year-round exhibition and program schedule. Admission to the Gallery is free. Gallery hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 2pm-4pm, closed Monday (open by appointment).

Established in September 2000, and originally managed by a voluntary committee of five dedicated community members, the Gallery now has its first full time Director. The Friends of the Cowra Art Gallery assist with Gallery operations by volunteering at exhibition openings and with many fundraising functions.

The Gallery is home to the Calleen Collection, works of art acquired since 1977 through the Calleen Acquisition Prize which is awarded each year during the Cowra Festival Art Awards. The Gallery offers visitors the opportunity to view and appreciate works by national and international artists, from emerging artists not seen elsewhere to the acknowledged masters of our day.
