Housed in the heritage listed Town Hall, an attractive eclectic style building built in 1934, the Gallery & Museum houses, maintains and presents the city's permanent collection of Australian art and local history. The holdings include material of particular significance to Gladstone along that of more general interest.

The Art Gallery/Museum is dedicated to promoting the visual arts and crafts for and by the communities of the Port Curtis region and Central Queensland in addition to acting as a focal point for the preservation and display of the region's history and cultural heritage.

A diverse program of travelling, local and collection based exhibitions focussing on art, craft and history is presented in conjunction with workshops, school sessions, lectures and many other community events. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10:00am - 5:00pm. Closed Christmas to New Year and Good Friday.
