Inverawe Native Gardens, just 15 minutes south of Hobart, is a nine and a half hectare Australian Native Garden, located north of Margate on the Channel Highway. Inverawe is a four year old garden which includes large landscaped garden, still in development.
It includes semi-formal areas, open forest and lightly timbered parklands. Inverawe is designed to be at peace with the environment and to do all the things a good garden should - inspire, relax, stimulate, recreate and above all, delight and intrigue.
More than 4,000 plants have been carefully selected for minimum water requirements, minimum maintenance and minimum use of chemicals. Displays in season include hundreds of Grevilleas, Callistemon, Correas and Acacias. Hundreds of eucalyptus have been planted in the parklands to supplement the mature trees on the property.
