Sturt Craft Centre invites high profile makers from a wide range of contemporary crafts and art practices to Sturt each year as part of the Artist in Residence Program. It is ideal for established craftspeople from Australia and overseas who see a need to invigorate their practice, expand their contacts and interact with other makers within the stimulating environment of Sturt.
Accommodation and the use of studio facilities are provided in exchange for thirty hours teaching. Teaching may take the form of a five-day workshop, or several one-day courses. An Exhibtion at Sturt Gallery is available in most instances. The Residency program is funded by Friends of Sturt and also from external sources and a stipend may be available to the artist. A Residency is generally for a period of three months, although this is negotiable.
