Dalyup is an exceptionally pretty property located just 8km by sealed road, from the thriving rural township of Coonabarabran in the heart of Warrumbungle country.

We are a 1500 acre working farm and like nothing better than to have our guests join in the day to day activities of life on a real Aussie farm.

Dalyup has a Piggery, Cattle, Sheep, Lambs and Cropping. A favourite place is the farm piggery where guests are invited to assist with daily feeding, a highlight for many city children is to witness the new litters being born.

Other seasonal activities are shearing, and lambing which are always very popular with young and old alike. Cattle mustering and management gives guests a real feel of the outback.

There is plenty to do, the mighty Castlereagh River meanders throughout the property, the river lends itself to leisurely walks, and you can always set a yabby trap in one of the many dams.

Jean your hostess loves to take guests on a farm tour where from the hills you get spectacular views of the Warrumbungle mountains and Siding Springs Observatory, a favourite place for keen photographers.

Wildlife abounds on the property. Its usual to see kangaroos and wallabies and great birdlife along the river, cockatoos, galahs, wedge tail eagles and parrots.

The website lists numerous animals and farm activities to be experienced. Maybe if you stay all year. On our visit we saw some pigs and cows, but there wasn't that much for kids to do or see other than wander around the farm sheds (although they seemed happy enough patting the dog) ... Read More
