Getting ThereOrford is 1 hr drive from Hobart or Airport, via the Tasman Highway to the East Coast. Turn Right into Charles St just before the bridge. Go straight up Charles St until you see Sanda House sign on the corner of Walpole St. If you are coming from the Nth, we are on the Sth side of the Prosser River. Cross the bridge, up Charles - as above. Port Arthur can be reached from Orford, via the tourist drive through the Wielangta Forest, which begins a few doors up from Sanda House. Within this working forest is a small, fascinating 5000yr old rainforest, which is worth a look - 15min boardwalk. Orford has most of the features of a small holiday town. A charming nine hole golf course, a bowls club, a hotel, fresh local seafood, pizza/pasta, a vineyard, supermarket and a post office.
