State-of-the-art and wholly interactive, the new 2 million dollar Workshops Rail Museum is an inspiring place. It's full of big machinery, colourful multi-media experiences, glimpses into the future and of course, reflections on the past.

Built on the historic site of the birthplace of rail in Queensland, The Workshops Rail Museum is a museum to have fun in and learn all about rail in Queensland through touching, driving, playing on and with all sorts of amazing rail equipment. Take a Behind the Scenes Tour of the Working Workshops, the oldest continually operating railway workshops in Australia, and see QR workers busily maintaining and restoring QR's Heritage Rollingstock.

Events at The Workshops Rail Museum include Friends of Thomas, Ipswich Model Railway Show, Wizards and Witches Express, Circus Train, Bunny Eggventures, Santa Sunday and the Annual Workers Reunion.
