If you want comfortable accommodation without all the extra's that increase your costs, then consider About Town. ATC don't provide are such things as a data link, food at inflated cost, shoe shine kit and all the other gimmicks, etc. If they don't provide all the gimmicks, they can keep an affordable price!

What we do provide is clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation with all the normal facilities - bathroom, television, domestic sized fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, microwave and most importantly, comfortable beds!

Broken Hill seems to have gone in for this cottages thing in a big way. The tourist info told us they are now more popular than motels.

Blue Gum Cottage was just right for us. Close to the centre of town and as the advert says, no trucks! What we really liked was getting quoted the same price it would have cost us for a motel room, we didn't realise you actually get a 2 bedroom house ... Read More
