In serine alpine woodland setting on the fringe of the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park, Cradle Mountain Chateau is the perfect base to explore the ice-carved mountain scenery of Tasmanias wilderness World Heritage Area. The Chateau's 60 beautifully appointed rooms and suites range from a comfortable deluxe room to a split level king spa room. Double sliding doors open onto your private portico where you can watch for the wildlife.

Enjoy fine Tasmanian wines and fresh local produce at the a la carte restaurant, The Grey Gum or enjoy casual bistro-style dining at Quolls.

The Chateau is also home to The Wilderness Gallery and the fascinating Tasmanian Tiger Exhibition. The exhibition presents a remarkable collection of artefacts, photographs and film, including the only footage in existence of the last Tasmanian tiger (Thylacine) in captivity, a skeleton, a unique rug made of Tasmanian tiger skins and a faithful reconstruction of a trappers hut.
