In these days of whale-watching this historic site is a reminder of a very different era. The site holds the longest-running shore-based whaling station in Australia, operating from the 1860s to the 1920s.

A signposted walk to the Kiah Inlet shows the ruins of the whale processing area, and passes a charming rustic cottage in a historic garden setting.
