The Thunderbolt Farm Restaurant and Estate Winery is located in the famous Queensland town of Stanthorpe. Combining mouth-watering international cuisine with a superb estate winery, Thunderbolt Farm has built up a reputation for excellent quality and value for money.

The Thunderbolt Restaurant is a first class dining experience, with beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards and valleys. Host, Claudia has a background in German, French and Italian cuisine and is always making delicious meals for the visitors to their winery. There are daily blackboard specials, revolving around seasonal produce. All food is made with the freshest of local ingredients, although they do have to import those magnificent French mushrooms.

Relax on the terrace overlooking the vineyards and orchards, and experience genuine country hospitality. Thunderbolt Farm is open daily from 10am - 5pm (except Wednesday), and also for dinner on Saturdays from 630pm til late!

Getting There: Thunderbolt Farm is very well situated on a slope, facing north and sheltered from the cold South and West winds. Stanthorpe is about 40kms from the New South Wales boarder, on the New England Highway, about 800kms from Sydney. 40 minutes south of Warwick and 40 minutes north of Tenterfield.
Please Note: Thunderbolt Wines are produced with cool climate hand picked grapes, right in Stanthorpe. Being a small producer allows them the creative freedom to produce whatever wines they choose. If you purchase your wine from a small hand picking winery you have a very good chance of a better wine. Thunderbolt Winery produces both red and white wines, port and liqueurs. They offer an opportunity to sample and discuss the wines at the cellar door.

Wine was undrinkable,main meal inedible,venue lacked atmosphere,service abrupt, value for money poor. Will be going to Heritage next year,if we return to Stanthorpe. ... Read More
