The Australian Railway Historical Society (ACT Division) operates the Canberra Railway Museum and both vintage and modern mainline passenger trains. The offices nearby Queanbeyan Railway Station sell tickets for their own trains and for CountryLink services.
These heritage trains use restored passenger cars from the early 1900s, and when possible are hauled by one of our century-old veteran steam locomotives. The overnight or weekend tour trains visit interesting destinations, include air-conditioned sleeping and dining cars.
Have a picnic lunch at Royalla and then hop back on for the return trip. Other trips available include evening railroad trips, enjoy a 3 course dinner while the train travels from Canberra and Queanbeyan to Royalla. Children welcome.
