A quaint old shop built entirely of Tasmanian blackwood in the 1860s. It is the last genuine period shop in Tasmania - all the proprietors, including the three generations of the family that ran the shop from 1900, preserved the Victorian structure and fittings.
As well as the stock for sale - umbrellas and National Trust and Tasmanian goods - the shop has a fascinating display of umbrellas used during the last 100 years. The shop is also a National Trust Information Centre.
