There's no city in the world that comes out to cheer on its gay pride event quite like Sydney. On Mardi Gras night, hundreds of thousands line the streets of Sydney to watch the colour, spectacle and outrageousness of the parade.

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is an annual gay pride festival which attracts many tourists from all around Australia as well as overseas. It culminates in the world-famous Mardi Gras Parade. Featuring thousands of Parade participants marching and dancing their way up Oxford Street in outrageous floats and lavish costumes, the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade is an unforgettable experience.

That's only just the beginning though, with more than 15,000 people partying on at the iconic Mardi Gras Party. Make sure you do not miss the world's most flamboyant, hilarious and creative celebration of gay pride!

Opening Times: Parade: 7.45pm-10.30pm
Further Information: The Festival runs for three weeks with an extensive program of LGBTQI events that bring a uniquely queer slant to the citys arts and social scene. The program includes Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Sports, Film, Community, Youth and Social events.
