Established in December 2005, Urban Central is Melbourne's newest backpacker hostel accommodation, providing the very latest in guest facilities and a central Southbank location. Urban Central is the perfect starting point to uncover everything Melbourne has to offer, with most attractions just a tram ride away.

Urban Central provides a number of attractive room options for the budget conscious traveller. All rooms have a maximum of four beds, and feature air-conditioning and personal lockers. Ensuite double rooms are also available. Urban Central provides complimentary breakfasts, daily activities and all day tea/coffee facilities. Linen and towels are provided as well.

Urban Central features a funky bar area, and public transport is ideally available at the front door. Use the hostel as a base to enjoy all the awesome attractions of Melbourne, or just stay and play at Urban Central!

The thing about Urban Central is it's newness. Having stayed in one too many backpacker in Melbourne, I have to say that my expectations were exceeded when I learnt that the maximum dorm size is 4 beds, and inclusive of towel, on top of the usual linen!
