    Nestled in 15 acres of tranquil rainforest at Mt Glorious, just 35km north-west of Brisbane, Queensland, Turkey's Nest Rainforest Cottage is a perfect retreat from the bustle of city life, close to the city, yet a world away.

    Awake to the sound of whip birds and a magnificent view through majestic hoop pines and rose gums to the rainforest below. Watch a variety of native birds feed on the verandah. Take a walk in the seclusion of our own private rainforest, past groves of palms and lichen-covered rocks, to the magnificent towering fig tree.

    A former forestry cottage, Turkey's Nest offers you authentic, rustic accommodation, yet includes all the modern conveniences for a truely relaxing bush getaway. Ideal for a romantic escape, with a full kitchen and a toasty wood combustion heater to relax beside on cool evenings.

    Situated in the D'Aguilar Range 620m above sea level, Mount Glorious offers welcome relief from the summer heat (nights can get quite cool even in summer; be sure to pack a jumper). In winter, as mists waft through the rainforest, warm yourself by the fireplace, with a glass of wine, a good book, and of course our complimentary port. Explore the walks of nearby Maiala National Park, ranging from 1.9km to 8km return, and Brisbane Forest Park. The village of Mount Glorious offers daytime dining at the Maiala Teahouse, Elm Haus Cafe (weekends only) and Mt Glorious Restaurant with a View. The Phoenix Sculpture Garden features a range of sculptures by local artist Graham Radford in a magnificent bush garden setting (open Sundays)

    Please contact us if you would like an optional breakfast basket for two. These contain - cereals/yoghurt OR bacon/ eggs/ tomatoes, plus a platter of fresh fruit, freshly baked bread, home-made muffins, butter and jams, orange juice, milk, an assortment of teas (black, green, herbal) and freshly ground coffee for the plunger or percolator. From $12 per person. Massages are also available by prior arrangement. To extend your stay, we may be able to arrange early check-in or late check-out. Please enquire when you book.

    From Brisbane follow either Mt Nebo Rd from The Gap (approx 25km), or Mt Glorious Rd through Samford, to the T-intersection of Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious Roads. Continue another 2km along Mt Glorious Rd to the Mt Glorious Village sign. Turkeys Nest is 300 metres on your right. Please contact us if you would like directions from other locations
