The Park caters for the travelling tourist (no permanent residents) including Cabins (6 berth) Hostel (private rooms, shared facilities), powered sites($28/night) and un-powered sites($18/night). The Camp Kitchen is well appointed and has a camp fire.

Enjoy the convenience of being able to walk to the CBD, which offers fine restaurants, clubs, hotels and shopping. Ideally positioned opposite the Axeman's Hall of Fame and Platypus Interpretation Centre. The Latrobe Mersey River Caravan Park is only 7 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry Terminal, a great place to start or finish your tour of Tassie.

Further Information: Whilst only 7 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry terminal, Cradle Mountain Lake St Claire National Park is only a 45 minute drive away, Launceston 1 hour, Strahan 1hr 15 mins and Hobart 2 hrs 45 mins. The Landcare group have created pleasant tree lined grass pathways alongside the river where platypus work the river banks for food at dusk and early morning and can be easily observed going about their routine of diving and rising in the shallow edges and eddies. Great central location to town centre, big park across the road near the platypus reserve. Really clean amenities - and helpful friendly staff. The sites are a bit on the squashy side but worth the setup effort - dogs loved the park next door ... Read More (Date of experience: Mar, 2010 )
