Getting ThereFrom Brisbane drive to Gympie then to Rainbow Beach to refuel and shop for supplies. From Rainbow Beach drive to Inskip Point beach for a 10 minute barge crossing to Hook Point, on the southern tip of Fraser Island. There is no need to pre-book as a number of barges operate a daylight shuttle service every day. Check the times of the first and last barge with operators. The scenic drive up the eastern beach at low tide will take you to Indian Head and Middle Rocks and usually get you to Orchid Beach in about l.5 hours.
