Wellington Botanic Garden

The Wellington Botanic Garden features 25 hectares of unique landscape, protected native forest, conifers, specialised plant collections, colourful floral displays, walkways and views over Wellington city and the harbour.

Highlights include the Treehouse Information Centre, the award winning Lady Norwood Rose Garden, (including shop and garden cafe), the Sound Shell Lawn, Begonia House, Children's Play Area and Duck Pond.

The Botanic Garden is a scenic, popular place for weddings and events. There are a number of picturesque settings for hire. Functions as well as photo sessions must be pre-booked. Wellington Botanic Garden is minutes from downtown Wellington and is open daily from dawn to dusk. Entry is free.
