The Quinkan and Regional Cultural Centre provides visitors with a welcome to Quinkan Country and region, and insights into its past, present and future. The Culture Centre, located in Laura, is owned and operated by the local community and was established with the support of the Queensland Heritage Trails Network.

The Quinkan & Regional Cultural Centre showcases all aspects of the Quinkan Country including, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal heritage, as well as the natural environment. There is something for all interests!

Book guided tours from the Cultural Centre, including tours to world famous Aboriginal art galleries such as Split Rock, mushroom rock and other rock art sites in the region. The Cultural Centre also provides information on other attractions within Quinkan Country and around Cape York Peninsula.

Things to do: >Explore Laura by foot. The Laura Heritage Trail starts at the center of the town opposite the pub. You will see relics of the gold and railway era along the walk, and even experience the confinement of an early police lockup! Continue on to Laura River and the old railway bridge to complete the full walk (2 hours). >Head into the natural wonder of lakefield, Queensland's second largest national park. Laura is the gateway to Lakefield, with the park entrance just 27km down the road. >Join in the celebrations at Laura Aboriginal Dance Festival, The largest traditional indigenous gathering in Australia. It is generally held in June every two years. >Meet the locals at the Laura rodeo and races, which is usually held on the last weekend in June.
