Work, stay and play at Delta! Delta Backpackers is a working hostel which provides farm work to backpackers from March to December each year. We also have work available during our low season (January through April), however, please contact us for work availability!

Delta Backpackers offers a number of accommodation options. Choose from double, twin or shared dorm accommodation. All rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities. Facilities available to you include a 22 metre massive pool, poolside bar, and 2 TV/movie rooms. Our NEW big Plasma screen TV has an inbuilt hard drive with 100's of movies, documentaries and your favourite sitcoms....all for free!! We also have a DVD library with hundreds of current titles. Getting There: Ayr is approximately one hour south of Townsville - you can fly in to Townsville, for cheap flight bookings try webjet travel bookings. You can also get here by bus - Greyhound or Premier Coaches or by train. We are only 60 metres from the bus stop! The Delta Backpackers right in the middle of the main street of Ayr - Queen Street. We are in the city centre and only 60 meters from the bus stop. From the bus stop, looking at the street, we are to your left - look for the big white sign!

I stayed in Delta for 4 months from July to October 2009. I loved it here! The work was really hard on the farm but the fun we had back at the hostel made up for it! The bar has cheap drinks and ther ... Read More (Date of experience: Jul, 2009 )
