North Star Hotel is the oldest hotel in the Flinders Ranges. Located in the historic township of Melrose, the recently renovated North Star Hotel offers luxury accommodation, family accommodation, great food, Bundaleer Wines cellar door and an ever changing art exhibition.
Just 3 hours drive north of Adelaide; the North Star Hotel radiates country charm. There are 4 rooms within the main hotel area, 4 within the place next door and 2 cabins built on the decks of old trucks.
Each hotel room features luxury, queen-size beds, and ensuite and a share kitchenette. The 4 cottage rooms in 'the place next door', all rented separately, feature double and single bed in each room (a rollaway bed is available) The red truck has double bed, while the green truck has a double, and a fold out bed - both with private ensuite.

Our "Jacka Room" features a guest lounge area and a long dining table - the perfect place for a small meeting (boardroom style up to 12 pax) or for a larger meeting (theatre style approx 20pax) or for a special dinner with friends

- Melrose is the mountain bike centre of SA, great trails and more being built all the time, Heysen Trail, Mawson Trail - the only place you can walk and ride both trails! Wine tasting in the Southern Flinders Ranges, historic town walks, great coffee, art exhibitions or just relaxing on our outdoor deck or balcony. Only one north of Clare Valley, travel through the valley for lunch and join us for dinner...

We stayed there in the weird and wonderful units out the back. Accommodation was great. Meals were fairly good and all friends were happy with theirs although my steak was over cooked. Very quiet but apparently the locals go the other pub and will not be convinced to try the North Star, even though the proprietors are very accommodating to all comers ... Read More
