Situated at the mouth of the beautiful Maroochy River, surrounded by beaches and rainforests, Cottontree Beach House Backpackers is a family owned and operated clean, comfortable, safe and friendly historic Queenslander hostel set in a tropical garden overlooking Mount Coolum, where the river meets the ocean.

This hostel is a great base for exploring the Sunshine Coast's many attractions such as Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo (free bus leaves daily from just around the corner), the Glasshouse Mountains, world famous Eumundi Market, Underwater World, Fraser Island and much more. If you are into action you can do everything, take advantage of the free surfboards, boogie boards, kayaks, surf skis, fishing rods and mountain bikes. If action isn't for you, relax in the spa or laze in the garden.

Our booking for 4 was mxed up and due to the lateness we took a room with 2 sets of bunks and it cost us as much as a motel room and they staff were grumpy about that! Even though they try to keep it clean the facilities were tired and dated ... Read More (Date of experience: Jul, 2011 )
