Putting the "Grand" back into Newcastle Central Station, this 250+ seater cafe, bar, brassiere, deli also incorporates private and business facilities.
Situated in the original first class passenger lounge (a Grade I listed building including historic Burmantoft Tiling), this modern-day facility extends out onto the platform in a Conservatory Cafe/Deli Bar. Entrance is via the Station or Neville Street.
The interior of the bar is beautifully decked out with the original ceramic tiling on the walls. At one end there is a semi circular bar with high tables and chairs and a spacious standing area around the side.
The pub is very popular with the business crowd and rail commuters, with people passing through. It can also get very busy in the café bar area. Conference facilities in 4 rooms is now available. Live jazz entertainment is a regular feature on a Tuesday, in a raised area overlooking the bar.
