Christchurch Medieval Festival

Annual Medieval Festival staged first weekend in September each year at the beautiful Town Quays in historic Christchurch, designed to raise a substantial amount of money for the upkeep of the massive 12th Century Priory Church. Dates for 2006 are Saturday September 2nd and Sunday September 3rd.

The Christchurch Medieval Festival features the very best Medieval Re-enactments groups and Performers, including Destrier, The Medieval Siege Society, The Paladins of Chivalry, Ye Old Redtail Falconry Display Team, Top German Band Schelmish, Lancaster's Armourie Medieval Combat Display Team, God's Company of Tabor, and the Herbert Household.

A packed programme of spectacular Displays and Demonstrations in the Arena leads to the Artillery Display and a massive Battle Re-enactment each afternoon, complete with Artillery, Archery, Explosions, Blocks of Bill, Men at Arms and fully armoured Knights as the Medieval Siege Society re-create a historic battle.
