The Man of Kent is just two minutes' walk from the Medway's banks, in a peaceful location on the edge of East Peckham in a little hamlet of Little Mill. Lying close to a hop farm, it is surrounded by orchards and oast houses.
To one side of the inn, the River Bourne runs within six feet of the large and attractive beer garden. People come from miles around to feed the huge Chubb that make this river their home.
Harveys and Adnams are the resident ales, and there are two additional guest ales. There's an impressive selection of wines, as well as a good complement of spirits and soft drinks, and a not bad whisky shelf.
The food is also worth a special trip, as it is all home cooked and home prepared, as well as a special board including seafood dishes, superb salads, delicious Sunday roasts and many other tempting options. It is advisable to book for Sundays as word is getting about that the food is good!
