After working as a chef in some of the best hotels & restaurant in the English Lakes, and with Scottish & Newcastle management team in hotels & pubs in the north east, Michael Ivison & his wife Julie have achived a lifelong ambition to have there own country pub & restaurant.

Welcome to "The Cross Inn" Paxton, we are open 6 days for lunch & evening meals. (closed on Monday except B/H, we advise you book on Fri Sat Sun) Our ever changing menu of local meats game fish & produce cooked in a classic and modern way in Michaels kitchen, complemented with fine wines and beers from Juiles bar, will make you want to come back for more. From the A1 follow the signs to "Paxton House" then look for the brown tourist sign to the "The Cross Inn". we are 2ml from the A1 and 4ml from Berwick on Tweed. We found out about the cross inn after viewing a website about berwick bed and breakfasts, we booked accommodation off this site and when asked the owners about the cross inn she had nothing but compliments for the place- we were leaving berwick on a sunday to travel to edinburgh and popped into the cross which is about 3 miles away from berwick on the scottish border in a town called paxton ...
