Location
The river Severn has been a highway for thousands of years. Since Roman times, the main route to Wales was a ford crossing the Severn down stream of the town at Redstone caves. Stourport came into being with the arrival of the Canal system. 'Stourport' was a thriving inland port for very many years, only declining with the arrival of the railways. The Town has, over the past 80 years, been the place to visit 'for a day out'. We carry on that tradition today, offering you an experience to remember.
