Learn to surf in Cornwall with the Gwithian Academy of Surfing in the West Country. On the coaching staff this year is a top quality body-boarder and surfer, a former English and British Team Member and the present British Team Coach. Between us we can help you achieve your surfing goals.

The Gwithian Academy of Surfing is a British Surfing Association Approved Level 4 (the highest possible approval rating) surf school that operates from Gwithian - the Northernmost point of St Ives Bay - and is very close to the towns of Hayle and St Ives. Gwithian is the perfect venue for learning to surf for a number of reasons. * Due to the gently sloping nature of the beach waves build and break very slowly giving aspiring surfers more time to get to their feet. * Owing to the generous 'fetch' of the Atlantic Ocean Gwithian Beach gets rideable waves year round. * Thanks to the Gulf Stream and the natural heat retaining properties of St Ives Bay the sea water is comparatively warm. * Gwithia
