The Alfred Hitchcock walk is led by writer and film historian Sandra Shevey, who interviewed the director in 1972 and discusses that meeting during the walk. Sandra's fascination with Hitchcock led her to start the tours, so that she could share his life history with others and talk about what he was really like.
The Hitchcock walk takes you through 12 sites from 10 different London neighbourhoods from 3 memorable films: `Frenzy`, `The Man Who Knew Too Much` and `The Paradine Case`. The aim of the walk is to compare Hitchcock`s reinterpretation of London locations with the real places, to see how much he was biased by whim or commercial interests.
The walk runs every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday throughout the year (including holidays). The walk starts at 11am and lasts for 3 hours, during which Sandra will often play excerpts from her audio interview with Hitchcock. The cost is £25 excluding Travelcard (zones 1 and 2).
