The Jersey War Tunnels preserves, records and depicts the story of Jersey's Occupation by German Forces from 1940 -1945. It is an important site of heritage and conservation and attracts large number of tourists every year.
At its centre is Höhlgangsanlage 8 (Ho8), the German Underground Hospital, built by forced labourers. As you walk along the complex of tunnels, where German soldiers once trod, houses an award-winning exhibition, 'Captive Island' telling the definitive story of the Occupation.
Jersey War Tunnels comprises more than Ho8. The Visitor Centre features a cafe, a shop, the Garden of Reflection, the Research Centre, the remnants of a German anti-aircraft gun battery on the War Trail and Joe Mière's unique collection of Occupation photos.
