Experience an exciting ride on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway, Scotland's highest and fastest mountain railway.
In winter or summer, the journey is a wonderful experience, travelling up the side of Cairngorm for two kilometres, climbing 460m to the Ptarmigan top station, 150m below the summit of the mountain.
Enjoy spectacular panoramic views from the train and the viewing platform at the top where the Mountain Experience Visitor Centre presents the fascinating story of Cairngorm Mountain- one of the most unique and fragile environments in Scotland. Enjoy a snack or a cup of coffee in Ptarmigan restaurant and bar- the highest restaurant in Scotland.

- Cairngorm Mountain Railway fares: Children- £5.50. Students and Seniors - £7.50. Adults- £8.75. These prices allow unlimited journeys on the funicular railway on the day of purchase. The railway is open year round except Christmas Day and during the annual maintenance programme, usually mid November. The Mountain Railway is accessible to wheelchair users. The lower compartment in each carriage can carry two wheelchair users and the railway staff can provide assistance if necessary.
