Big Red Hire Engine

The Big Red Hire Engine was a new business venture to the Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas in December 2004. The original five partners spent over 500 man-hours converting the then ex-operational Dennis SS135, Perkins driven 9 litre - V8, from a fully working fire engine to a luxury limousine at a cost of over £7000.

The vehicle itself can now be seen quite regularly cruising around Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Norwich. Having become very popular quite quickly our customers have ranged in age from about 3 months to one celebrating her 70th Birthday! We often see familiar faces returning for another trip as they enjoyed it so much the first time around.

In fact the notion of a Fire Engine as a limousine has worked that well with everybody a 2nd one has been purchased by the company and has also been converted, this time to a cost of over £10,000. "Engine II" went 'on the run' on the 18th May 2007 and her maiden voyage was a prom night to Great Yarmouth High School.
